Winter might be cold and sometimes snowy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the great outdoors! Located in Maggie Valley, NC, Cataloochee is one of the top ski and snowboard resorts in the Southeast. Featuring beautiful and maintained trails ranging from beginner to expert and 100% snowmaking coverage, Cataloochee is prepared to offer days of winter fun for all ages and levels of experience. It also offers ski and snowboard rentals and rental packages, as well as snowboard and ski school, private lessons and classes, and a kids adventure center.
Just four miles away is Tube World, which includes the Wee Bowl for smaller children looking to try out snow tubing.
Located in Sugar Mountain, NC, Sugar Mountain offers skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Additionally, it features ice skating, snowshoeing, and snowshoeing tours, for those looking to get out into the woods and explore on foot.
Located in Seven Devils, NC, Hawksnest is the largest tubing park in the East. With a 30-lane park and four different areas, Hawksnest offers 100% snowmaking coverage and rides back up to the top of the hills. Additioinally, Hawksnest is home to the longest zip line tour in the country.
