Main Street Sylva is home to several art galleries and potters and is home of Greening Up The Mountains, an annual arts festival showcasing local artisans of all kinds. Sylva is also home to Concerts on the Creek, a free, family-friendly concert series running every Friday 7-9 pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Outdoor Adventure

Jackson County is the NC Trout Capital, containing 4,600 miles of streams and an annual stocking of 92,800 trout. There are 31 public access points along these streams, a map of which can be downloaded HERE! Fishing is not the only thing these streams offer; the tubing, white water rafting, kayaking and canoing opportunities are endless. Local rafting companies include Dillsboro River Company and Tuckasegee Outfitters.

Living in Sylva, residents can access several large grocery stores, retail shops, and small local businesses. 

Grocery store chains like Food Lion and Ingles are located along Main Street (also known as US-23 Business). A Walmart Supercenter, Lowe's Home Improvement store, and Rite Aid Pharmacy are located within town limits, as well.

Downtown Sylva's Mill Street and Main Street are lined with old-fashioned storefronts that house used book stores, cafes, breweries, and local restaurants. Just off of the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway within town limits is Galaxy Lanes & Games and 828 Escape.
