Academic Calendars

There are two districts within Jackson County Public Schools: the Blue Ridge District (with 2 schools, the Blue Ridge School and Blue Ridge Early College) and Smoky Mountain District (with 7 schools). 

All operate on a traditional school calendar.

Schools are in session between mid-August and June.

School Closings & Delays

Schools may close or operate on a delay if the weather is bad or if there's an emergency. The school district will send out an automated voicemail about school closings, and you can hear the announcement on local news and radio stations.

Students make up the missed days either on Saturdays or on scheduled made-up days.
